The City Learning Centres can offer training in a wide range of software and hardware. If you are interesting in training please see the software list below and contact us to arrange a date, venue and trainer.
ACTIVstudio 3 Professional User
This session is a “get to know you board” during which these functions and more will be covered.
Animation Workshops
Come along and learn how to create simple animations in our workshops. Teachers will be using stop frame animation software and then edit the footage in iMovie.
Blogs and Blogging
How to communicate with pupils, staff and the outside world. Showcase your good work by writing all that you do on your weblog, post homework and lesson plans and notify users of forthcoming events.
Adobe Dreamweaver Training
introduction to Dreamweaver software to enable students to meet the criteria of I.T Diploma modules.
Adobe Fireworks Training
An introduction to ‘Macromedia Fireworks’, learn the basic functions of the package to create graphics for web and print and allowing you to meet the criteria for I.T Diploma modules.
Adobe Flash Training
This session introduces students to the flash interface, getting to grips with keyframes, frames, layers and the timeline
Digital Music in the Classroom
Teachers will use Garageband and iTunes, enabling them to create, record and perform their own music with drag and drop simplicity.
Digital Photos in the Classroom
Teachers and pupils will learn to import, organise, edit and share digital photos. Make a slideshow as good as a movie with iPhoto and there are also lots of new book templates to use.
Digital Storytelling
Digital storytelling in the Curriculum using iMovie.
Digital Video in the classroom
Teachers will learn to create Hollywood-style movies using cinematic titles, new audio tools, video effects and then share them in a video podcast.
Internet Technologies
Too often, teachers and students accept authentic-looking information on the Internet as the truth. Anyone can publish on the Internet and learning how to validate web-based information is now an important skill.
Kaleidos Learning platform Training
This course is designed as an introduction to the basic functions and features of the Kaleidos Learning Platform from RM.
Kar2ouche Training
This Kar2ouche taster session is designed to give teachers an introduction to the Kar2ouche suite of software for primary, middle and Secondary Schools.
Podium Podcasting
This is a course for any teacher who wants to know more about the Podcasting using Podium software which has been purchased for all schools within the Stoke-on-Trent L.A.
Comics in the Classroom
Teachers will love using this stunningly simple program called Comic Life, which allows pupils to use photos and drawing to create a unique comic strip presentation using photographs or drawn images.
Mission Maker
Introduction to Mission Maker. A new software which lets students rapidly create visually rich worlds for first person adventure ‘Missions’, complete with sets, animated characters, simple dialogue and music.
Teachers Media Immersion Day
A day of multimedia where our Apple trained staff will take you through an amazing multimedia journey.
