StokeTube is a web based service that allows staff and students to safely upload and search for educational video content from either the classroom or their home. Using any web browser your staff and students can obtain access to thousands of hours of educational content ranging from content developed by other schools to terrestrial television recordings. Your school will also have the ability to upload any video content that you may already be using in the classroom in a simple and accessible fashion.

  • Ingest all your multimedia content – making it accessible at any time and any location

  • Stream events or classes live, over your local network and/or over the internet

  • Combine content from different sources to create lesson plans, playlists or broadcasts

  • Add related material to videos e.g. still images, audio, pdf and word documents

  • Synchronise Power Point slides with video playback

  • Record from Freeview TV using a web based television guide and playback on any computer

  • Restrict access to your content by user, by rating, by key stage or by location

  • Compatible with Virtual Learning Environments

It is now common place for staff and students to use video in the classroom, whether they are watching pre-recorded or self-created material. Both staff and students are commonly engaging with platforms such as YouTube, but due to the insecure nature of these platforms it is not possible to use them as tools in the classroom. This is why StokeTube can be a tremendous asset to your teachers and students since its walled-garden provides access only to bona-fide members of Stoke-on-Trent City schools.
